Experiment in wax, candle and charcoal

We drew on plain paper using a wax candle, this was to attempt to make us look at the model rather than what was on the page (as we couldn’t see anything while we drew). We then used ink over the wax which didn’t absorb the ink where the wax was on the page. We then rubbed the ink into the page using a sponge. We added a few touches with the charcoal. It was a fun experiment after a few weeks of ‘blind’ drawing. The process taught us to ‘look’ rather than getting too ‘precious’ about what was on the paper.
